Come by historic downtown Sherman and visit the Old Iron Post for a relaxed, casual dining atmosphere. There is always room for you, your friends, and your family, thanks to the combination of our amazing patio area, indoor seating, and 'darn near the longest bar in Texas.' We always have a varied selection of sports on our many TVs, including our great patio TV specially installed to watch the Rangers, the Cowboys, the Mavericks and more, and we occasionally feature live music from an acoustic artist as well - including EVERY Friday night at our Party on the Patio. Stop in to enjoy our great selection of food, margaritas, wines, and specialty drinks. If you prefer beer, we have 30 different selections on tap, and over 70 other varieties too, with many local and regional craft beers included. Old Iron Post has been recognized by Best of Texoma in multiple categories over the years, including Best Bar, Best Margarita, Best Place to Grab a Beer, Best Business Lunch and Best Burgers.

Our historic building is located at 101 N Travis Street, at the corner of Travis and Houston (right on the square.) It completed in 1876 by M. Snider & Bros. and spent over 140 years housing a retail business prior to it being a restaurant. There is a trove of rich history both within the building, and on the walls. During the 2015 renovation and restoration project, many of the building's original architectural features were uncovered and restored, all going towards enhancing the atmosphere of our location. We are thrilled to be located in such a vital and unique part of Sherman's downtown.

Old Iron Post is open 7 days a week from 11 am for lunch, dinner and late night drinks. We host Sunday Brunch every Sunday 10 am to 2 pm including $2 Mimosas and specialty Bloody Marys. We have a diverse variety of drink specials - including, Margarita Wednesdays during which all house Margaritas in all our fabulous flavors are just $2 each - winner Best Margaritas in Best of Texoma. We are always expanding our menu on a consistent basis and have a variety of burgers, from regular to specialty varieties - including our fabulous Black and Blue and our Brunch Burger. Check out the live music on Friday nights and other special occasions such as Downtown Sherman Mardi Gras, St. Patrick's and others.

Fishing Report from TPWD (Sep. 17)

GOOD. Water stained; 84 degrees; 0.28 feet above pool. Striped bass fishing is up and down depending on the temperatures. Warmer days have the fish moving fast and surfacing on top early and late. Live bait and slabs are working on shallow flats and ledges off the main lake in 15-25 feet of water. Crappie are biting jigs or minnows on points with stumps and brush in 12-20 feet of water, or docks and shade in coves. Eater catfish are good on punch bait in 18-28 feet of water on flats and in the backs of ditches. Baited holes are producing numbers. Soon big blue catfish will roam the deep flats chasing big baits. Report by Jacob Orr, Lake Texoma, Guaranteed Guide Service. Stripers are hit-or-miss with the best bite on topwaters or slabs on flats in 10-20 feet of water or deep in 60 feet of water. Target structure and the ledges of drop-offs. Some anglers are using live bait or trolling. Fish should be moving shallow as the water begins to cool. Report by John Blasingame, Adventure Texoma Outdoors.
