What's up everybody? It's Simon from Lake Up. Today we're talking about face paint for hunting. I'm a deer hunter. So normally what I use for face paint is just going to be a regular old athletic eye black. This is like a grease base looks like lipstick. Right. It goes up and down. It's just it's black grease. Right? Football, baseball, classic. Right? Buy this in any athletic store, athletic department or whatever

I also got this one here. Now, I'll test all these out so you can see them
0:35
But it's called Camel FX, and on the shelf, it looks really good
0:39
This is something I should have. But the deal is, is it kind of muddies up your skin, which might be good for like turkey hunting, you know
0:49
critter with really good eyesight, who's going to be in close quarters with you
0:53
But waterfowl, you know, deer, hogs, that sort of thing. you don't really need this. I'll show you why. It's just not very contrasty. I'll do it on this side so you can see
1:12
I mean it make it blend into your to your surroundings if that what you trying to do but it not going to have this high contrast situation that you normally expect from camo
1:24
This is more of a military style face paint, right? So it's kind of nice to have that brown in there and you can kind of do some streaks
1:32
But other than that, I really haven't used it. I haven't used it just because of that fact
1:37
It's not high contrast enough. So this is what I end up using
1:44
And I've gotten to where I can do this in the dark. Just put a couple stripes in my nose
1:50
A couple stripes in my eyes. Doesn't need to be perfect. Doesn't need to be beautiful. You know, I'm not performing a kiss concert here
1:56
I'm just trying to not stand out. That's it. It has a little bit of a smell to it
2:04
You know, so since you're concerned, I mean, it's not that strong of a smell. I can smell it because it's on my nose, you know
2:10
but otherwise it's not too bad. Now the downside is that one, it will rub off and then this grease gets on everything
2:21
So you know, you've got a mosquito or something like that on your face
2:25
You're going to touch it. It going to get in your gloves Everything you get is going to start to everything you touch is going to start to get kind of greasy which is why I want to share with you this new technique I found
2:37
This was shown to me by a duck guide last season. It's a cork, right
2:44
An actual cork, not like the plastic, you know, new-fangled corks. Here's what you do
2:49
It has to be cork material. And this is all you do
2:57
Light the end on fire until you get a nice ash going
3:06
Blow it out. Like at that
3:22
Now if you're going for money or if you're going for contrast, you can get either one
3:26
Now, here's what's great about that. You can just light it again to get the charcoal going again
3:34
because you kind of wear it off. Like you get all that carbon off your face or off the end of it onto your face
3:40
And now there's not a whole lot left. See? So you light it again do it again Now I going show you why this is so awesome I gonna take this paper towel
3:55
I'm just gonna wipe with the same pressure on both sides. This just wipes right off without even having to wash my face
4:07
I mean, I'll wash my face anyway. But look at that. That's great. This is like struggle by trying to get this thing off my face, this grease
4:17
And I've always wrestled with it. I keep wet wipes, you know, in my truck
4:24
But it's always a situation. And I can still feel it. It's on my face the rest of the day
4:31
This, most of it wipes off, clean and easy. My skin feels like skin
4:38
and then a little splash just open water and it's gone total game changer so i'm going to keep
4:45
all these just because i like to have you know options on me and i need to throw a lighter in my pack
4:51
now but i just wanted to share that because i was such a game changer so there you have it i'm
4:59
