Enjoying the great outdoors is a wonderful experience - from camping, fishing, hunting, and taking time with family & friends! Growing up in my family included all these outdoor opportunities! The time bonding, learning, and experiencing the outdoor life are now cherished memories, never forgotten as they will always hold a special part in my life!




The Refuge Rocks Youth Event Near Lake Texoma 


The Refuge Rocks Youth Event takes place near Lake Texoma on January 18th from 10 am to 11:30 am. The event is a free nature activity for youth from the ages 5 through 10.


Youth enjoy discovering nature during the winter season. They also will learn how to recognize signs of animal life during the discovery.


Admission for the youth is free. Hagerman National Wildlife Refuge is located at 6465 Refuge Road in Sherman, Texas. For more info, please call 903-786-2826.

Lake Texoma Fishing Report from TPWD (Jan. 15)

FAIR. Water stained; 48-50 degrees; 1.86’ high. Striped bass are good using slabs, swimbaits, using flukes, and with live bait around structure and big schools in creeks and channels in the warmest part of the day. Largemouth bass are good drifting live baits and reeled baits across shallow low traffic natural structure. Crappie are good on minnows and jigs by boathouses, submerged vegetation, and timber. Catfish are fair on live shrimp, cut bait, and minnows.
