Have You Seen the Giant Green Snake Living Somewhere in Lake Texoma?

Have you seen the giant snake, perhaps a real live green anaconda from South America that somebody turned loose into Lake Texoma and now has grown to a mammoth size? Who knows if it's true? Do you? KTEN reported when a couple of fishermen said they saw the giant green snake near the Denison Dam this summer, in June. http://www.kten.com/story/22597598/t Surely there would have been other sightings of the snake by now, and that's why I'm wondering if anybody else out there on LakeTexoma.com has seen it, too. Even if Shane Lawrence and Joe Williamson fabricated their story to KTEN reporters (which I'm not suggesting is what happened) the fact remains that some people have been known to turn their pet snakes loose in the Lake Texoma area. I'm quoting Meredith Yeoman's KTEN article on this topic: "In 2007, the state passed a law to address the problem of non-native snakes in Texas. Under the law, any person possessing a snake non-native to Texas must have a permit. Releasing one of those snakes into the wild is punishable by a fine of between $500 and $4,000, and up to one year in jail." Now there's a heads-up for any Texoma snake owners who may decide that their snake needs a watery home in the wild. Turning it loose at the lake is NOT a good idea at all. Let's see if we can generate more comments than KTEN's article online, and maybe uncover the truth of the giant snake story, and hopefully setting all our minds to rest. Any night fisherman out there who have a true story to tell? Please post it below.

Fishing Report from TPWD (Jul. 9)

FAIR. Water stained; 84 degrees; 1.87 feet above pool. Striped bass fishing is hit and miss but fish are starting to surface on shallow sand flats and in cuts. Top waters and swimbaits are working as well as live bait drifting shallow 10-15 feet of water or anchoring on main lake ledges in 15-25 feet of water. Catfishing remains excellent on punch bait in 25-30 feet of water on humps and main lake points. Bigger blues will be cruising the deeper water drift while gizzard shad or rough fish off of the river channels on flats in 40-55 feet of water. Bass fishing is good on hard baits and reaction baits near docks and the backs of coves early in the mornings and late evenings. Fish main lake points and rock bluffs mid day off the banks. Report by Jacob Orr, Lake Texoma, Guaranteed Guide Service. Striped bass are good on topwaters in shallow water, switching to slabs as fish move out to 15 feet of water. Water clarity is improved. Report by John Blasingame, Adventure Texoma Outdoors.
