Lake Texoma Fireworks 2023

Indpendence Day is one of the few things that can bring Texas and Oklahoma together. Whether you're tying up at the islands, camping, or visiting the lake for the afternoon, this holiday week is quite an experience at the lake. Get out in Texomaland for one (or more!) of these awesome 4th of July events.

Highport Marina Freedom Fireworks – Saturday, July 1, 2023

This is typically the crowd favorite, highly visible from some of the most popular areas of the lake. The marina will be packed out, so try and view from around the area, or get on the water if you can. From boats, you can see this show from anywhere in that part of the lake, including the islands – but they'll be crowded!

Firework Show at Cove Point – Sunday, July 2, 2023

There will be fun for the DIY fireworks show with a designated area, followed by an official fireworks show on Sunday.

Roosevelt Bridge Fireworks Show – Monday, July 3, 2023

One of the best 4th of July experiences on Lake Texoma is the fireworks show launched off the west end of the Roosevelt Bridge on US 70 over the north end of the lake. Watch from the water or Lake Texoma State Park.

Events on Tuesday, July 4, 2023

Here are some local town events around the lake, but not on the water that are happening on the day of:

  • Gunter Fireworks in the Park
  • Denison Fourth of July Fireworks Celebration
  • Durant July 4th Fireworks Show

Fishing Report from TPWD (May 14)

FAIR. Water stained; 65 degrees; 18.09 feet below pool. Channel and blue catfishing has fired off in the murky flooded waters of Lake Texoma. Flooded willows and rocks in 5-15 feet of water with prepared baits or shad for numbers and good size fish. The striper fishing is inconsistent, dependent on chasing the clear water and each other until things settle. The fish will also move up shallow and in to the trees if we continue to stay at these levels with warmer water temps. Clear water is key and we don’t have any of that right now.Report by Jacob Orr, Lake Texoma, Guaranteed Guide Service. The water clarity is super muddy with lots of floating debris. Check ramp status before heading out. Striped bass are hit-or-miss depending on the wind and the ability to find clean water. Target clear water with slabs and swimbaits. Shad are still spawning along the banks. Report by John Blasingame, Adventure Texoma Outdoors.
