To: Texoma Business Owners/Managers, Public Representatives,
Community Leaders, Farmers, Ranchers, and Concerned Citizens
We cordially invite you to attend the "Save Lake Texoma Community Meeting" at the Kingston Multi-Purpose Facility at 1 PM, Saturday, March 15th in Kingston, Oklahoma. The meeting has been designed to bring together subject matter experts, public leaders, citizens, business owners and other concerned individuals from both Texas and Oklahoma.
We're also requesting your presences to aid public leaders to understand the impact of current laws, water levels, policies, and what the lake means to your daily lives, businesses, neighbors, and overall economic health of the lake community. There will be experts and representatives providing information and there will be sufficient time for interaction between the public and participating experts.
The meeting will target key subjects which have impacted the economic growth and stability of small businesses, jobs, home values and sales, and biological and natural events which have or may be impacted by the low water levels of Lake Texoma.
The primary questions to be posed include:
• Is the Flood Control Act (1938), which governs Lake Texoma, still valid or is it antiquated?
• Is there a comprehensive lake plan to address the extended drought, silting, and other environmental issues impacting lake area fishing, hunting, public recreation and tourism?
• Can Oklahoma, Texas and our federal agencies work together to create a mutually beneficial plan for the citizens whose lives and livelihoods depend on the resources of Lake Texoma?
Please RSVP by email to: [email protected] or call us for additional information Lisa D. Davis, (580) 564-5015, and Robyn King, (580) 565-0738. Hope to see you there!
And remember, Lake Texoma and our area businesses are open and waiting for you to have fun!
