Lake Texoma has its share of them, too.

And there are Facebook groups and webpages littered with the beauty of Spring in north Texas, which is such a joy for people who are stuck at work most days, and don't have time to get out and drive around while the wildflowers are in bloom briefly.
We don't get to see wildflowers too well when we're out on the lake, so driving and hiking are the best ways to get your immersion into real-life wildflowers at this time of year.

TxDOT provides a very handy webpage with Texas wildflower photos, with each type shown as both a seedling and a mature plant. This page is super handy!
We should all be grateful to TxDot because it plants more than 60,000 pounds of wildflower seeds along Texas highways every Fall, for our enjoyment come Spring.
TxDPS provides a few tips for enjoying Texas wildflowers all over the state, including the Texoma area, and it includes the following advice:
"So even though picking a few flowers may be okay, individuals should not dig up clumps of flowers or drive their vehicle into a field of flowers."
Be thoughtful and leave the native beauty to grow and spread for all of us again next year!
