Lake Texoma Fishing Report for February 2012

February has started off with a bang. We are catching fish regularily now using artificial, bass assassins, with heads made by Reaxtion Lures, which comes in lots of colors, and work well. The fishing is governed mainly by weather conditions, the adverse winds hammpering the fishing as it becomes hard to get to favorite spots. We are fishing in 19-60 feet of water mainly drifting. There are some times the birds are working, showing where the fish are, but most of the time, you have to find them naturally. We have gotten reports that the blue-green algae is no longer a big issue, alerting all that the lake is open and safe for fishing and boating, etc. This has become a great cold month fishing location, only to get better and faster with water temperatures rising. There are lots of great places to stay, clean and nice for your convenience, close to the water. We recently caught a nice small mouth, and large stripers, which I will share with you. Good fishing.
