Lake Texoma Fishing Report for mid Jan. 2012

Hello All,
Water temps 47-49 degrees.
Lake Level 613.26 Still down about 4ft.
A couple of things have happened on my end of the lake since late December.... The little bird action we had has all but stopped and since there is also not any top water action, we are haveing to use the depth finders to locate fish.
The fish are still hugging the bottom and I'm not seeing them schooled up and pushing balls of bait around, like I was seeing a month ago.
Those bigger schools of fish we were getting into in December have either scattered or I just haven't found them.
I'm still finding fish, and we are still getting our limits of long fish each trip but we are not having the "problem" of only catching big fish. In December, we were having trouble coming in with limits of fish because most of what was being caught were too big to keep. I'm not having that problem now. We are pulling 40-70 fish a trip with 5-20 of those being fish over 20 inches. The rest are under 20 inches, or a "box fish"

Below are some of the fish since the last report.
Fishing remains really good and the weather we've had can't be beat for winter fishing.
Still hooking into bigger fish but nothing over 14 pounds this past week.
The fishing should remain good until the water temps fall into the low 40s.
I'm still using only live baits and will as long as I can keep them frisky in these colder waters.
I've got plenty of days open, if you need to book something or have questions....let me know.
